Wild Dandelion
I love these squishy, round, and bold cables - and I’m obsessed by the dense crosses that separate each round section. To really give them some presence, I worked them in offset columns, and then ended the last repeat in shaping that gives the crown some extra squish up top. Plus that deep brim means your ears are covered and gives the hat the exact look I was going for.

Yarn: Barrett Wool Co. Home Worsted Weight (100% wool; 230yds/210m per 3.53oz/100g skein). Shown in Field.
If substituting, a tweed, a solid, a semi-solid, or a subtle heather in a worsted weight wool would work best. Something with a little depth, but not much variegation shows the pattern off beautifully. I would suggest a wool fiber with memory and minimal drape for a longer lasting, better fitting hat.
