Que Syrah Syrah
Que Syrah Syrah is a simple spring pullover, featuring lots of rib texture and just a few delicate lace cables. It’s got a classic drop shoulder silhouette, and it’s worked to a short length on the body, but you can easily adjust that if desired. It includes a hem that’s worked to a subtly smaller gauge than the body and it’s got the generous sleeves that I’m kind of loving this season.
I made my sample in the Dusk colorway of H&W Forge, as it gives me the perfect pale pink vibes I want in a summery sweater, and I know I’ll wear it with everything I own as soon as the season changes.
I also love the fabric that the Corriedale in the Forge creates for the design. It’s crisp and light and lofty - which is just perfect to wear in warmer weather, and soft enough to wear against my arms when I’ve got a tank underneath.
Que Syrah Syrah is worked in the round from the bottom up and split into front and back at armholes. It’sthen knit flat in separate front and back pieces to shoulders, which are seamed. Stitches for sleeves and collar are picked up around the seamed neckline and armholes and worked in the round. As always, notes are in the pattern to adjust sweater for fit in a number of ways.
Cable sections are both written and charted.
Sweater shown in size 38.75”/98.5cm. Larger sizes have additional cables on front and back.

Yarn: Hudson + West Co. Forge (70% US Merino, 30% US Corriedale wool, 235yds/215m per 3.53oz/100g skein). Sample knit in Dusk.
If substituting yarn, I suggest a wool or wool blend in a worsted-weight yarn. Another wool yarn in a solid, semi-solid, tweed or heather should block out to size and show off the pattern. A yarn with a touch of drape, a subtle speckle, or a halo might also be beautiful here. I do not suggest yarns with pronounced texture or variegation. Memory in substitute yarns may vary, and in ribbed fabric this is important. Some yarns will vary widely in gauge when worked in rib, especially those that contain nylon. Be sure to block all swatches.
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows/rounds in rib on larger needle for body and collar, 22 sts and 28 rounds on medium needle at hem. 24 sts and 28 rounds on small needle at cuffs.
Needles: US#7/4.5mm for body and collar, US#6/4mm for hem, US#5/3.75mm for cuffs.
Sizes:
34.75(38.75,42.75,46.75,50.75)(54,58,62,66)”

For fit shown, I suggest 4”/10cm of positive ease.
