Cherry Rumble Cowl
The Cherry Rumble Cowl features an elegant, undulating mix of lace and ribbing that creates overlapping "leaves". There's a new technique to learn in here, where you'll both cross a cable and decrease a stitch in one fell swoop, but I promise it's easy to do!
I designed the cowl with 3 color sections, because I loved this color combination and because the 3 colorblock size creates the perfect cowl dimension to wear both indoors over a shirt, or outside under a coat. However, you can easily modify this for more or fewer color blocks, and you can easily alter the length or width of the overall cowl as desired. Notes are in the pattern on how to do so.
North Bay Fiber will have kits from Friday 4/8 6pm EST, in a few beautiful color combinations, available here.

Yarn: North Bay Fiber Heritage DK weight yarn (100% Targhee-Polypay wool; 150yds/137m per 50g skein). Shown worn in Pumpkinseed, Chinook, and Natural. Second sample worked in Pumpkinseed, Bullhead, and Watershed.
If substituting yarn, look for a light worsted or heavy DK weight yarn that shows off the pattern nicely. Make sure any substitute fiber is soft enough to wear against your neck, and has enough body to stand up in the design and not fold into itself.
Gauge: 20 sts/24 rounds per 4"/10cm in ribbing; each 20 st repeat in lace pattern is 4”/10cm.
Needles: US 7/4.5mm
Size/Circumference:
Cowl is 10”/25.5cm wide and makes an approx. 29.25”/74.5cm loop when seamed.
Circumference while working cowl is 20”/50.75cm.
Each of the 3 color sections shown are each about 9.75”/24.75cm deep.
Yardage:
For length shown, 150yds/137m of each of 3 colors. Note that you will use a full skein of each panel, so if adding length, you will need additional yarn.
