Blackthorn Cowl
Blackthorn is a deep, cozy cowl, perfect for the middle of winter. I love nothing more than wearing something big and soft and warm around my neck when the days get cold and the trees look empty and sad, and when I saw this squishy, round yarn, my thoughts went straight to texture.
I love how the rich, dark shade takes to a bit of depth. The cable and lace motif here has beautiful geometric lines, with pronounced highs and lows that really stand out in Neighborhood Fiber Co’s gorgeous, saturated hues. The top and bottom ribbing of the cowl play right off the lines of the main motif for a neat border.
The repeat is simple and easy to memorize, and the satisfying project quickly becomes TV knitting. Enjoy!
Instructions are both written AND charted.
